Today was the final stage of the 2020 Dakar rally, but with tricky navigation promised by the organisers, the results were far from settled.
“Done. Can’t quite believe I made it. Gutted that the bike failed on me on stage 7 but it was important to get it fixed and to carry on to gain experience for future editions. Pretty tough at the finish to see everyone getting their finishers medals but that’s the way it goes sometimes. I’m so glad Holly and my dad could be here to soften the blow.”
“The stage itself was relatively short at 167km. It was tight and twisty in some parts then open and flowing in others. A good mix really. The navigation got tricky towards the end of the stage, I have no idea how the top guys ride and navigate at that pace!”
“Finally I just want to say thanks to everyone for their help with getting me here. I hope I did you all proud. Unfinished business here, I’ll be back someday soon to settle the score...”
Thanks for all your support, it really means everything.
